The World of Leather
Leather products are items made from animal hides, usually cow, sheep, or pig skin. The hides are treated and processed to
create a strong, flexible, and durable material that can be used to make various products such as:
- Clothing: jackets, coats, pants, shoes, and gloves
- Accessories: handbags, belts, wallets, and watches
- Furniture: sofas, chairs, tables, and car interiors
- Other products: leather straps, leather bags, and leather cases
Types of Leather:
- Full-Grain Leather: Considered the highest quality leather, full-grain leather is made from the strongest and most durable
part of the hide.
- Top-Grain Leather: The second-highest quality leather, top-grain leather is made from the outer layer of the hide, but may
have some imperfections removed.
- Bonded Leather: Also known as reconstituted leather, bonded leather is made from leftover scraps of leather that are bonded
together using adhesives and other chemicals.
- Suede Leather: A type of leather with a soft, velvety texture, suede leather is made from the underside of the hide.
